1. Pre-Treatment and Preparation
· Take an impression of the prepared teeth (prior to tooth preparation, if pre-op technique is used).
· Prepare the teeth and ensure they are clean and dry.
2. Dispensing the Material
· Insert the 50 mL automix cartridge into a 3M™ Garant™ dispenser.
· Attach a mixing tip (green) to the cartridge.
· Dispense the material directly into the impression or onto the provisional crown form.
3. Placement
· Seat the filled impression or crown form over the prepared tooth.
· Allow material to set intraorally for approximately 1 minute 40 seconds.
4. Removal
· Gently remove the provisional restoration from the mouth once the material reaches an elastic stage.
· Allow the material to fully set outside the mouth (total setting time approx. 5 minutes).
5. Finishing and Polishing
· Trim and adjust margins with rotary instruments as needed.
· Protemp™ 4 develops a glossy surface finish without the need for polishing or glazing.
6. Cementation
· Cement the provisional restoration using a temporary luting cement such as 3M™ RelyX™ Temp NE or equivalent.
⚠️ Tips:
· Do not light cure; Protemp™ 4 is chemically cured.
Avoid excessive moisture during setting for best results.
