Ethicon Johnson Vicryl Sutures USP 4-0, 3/8 Circle Reverse Cutting – NW 2494 (12 Foils Box) is a sterile, synthetic absorbable surgical suture composed of polyglactin 910. Manufactured by Ethicon, a subsidiary of Johnson & Johnson, this coated Vicryl suture is designed for general soft tissue approximation and/or ligation, including ophthalmic procedures, but not for use in cardiovascular or neurological tissues. The suture features a 12mm, 3/8 circle reverse cutting needle engineered to penetrate tough tissues such as skin and fascia with minimal trauma. The reverse cutting design reduces tissue damage and supports improved wound healing. Progressive tensile strength loss and absorption occur through hydrolysis, beginning with strength reduction followed by loss of mass.
