Powder / Liquid Ratio (g/g): 0.40 / 0.12 |
This is the recommended mixing ratio by weight — 0.40 grams of powder to 0.12 grams of liquid. Following this ratio ensures optimal handling and mechanical properties. |
|
Mixing Time: 10 seconds |
The time you should take to mix the powder and liquid on a mixing pad. Efficient mixing within this time ensures a smooth and homogenous consistency. |
|
Working Time: 1 minute 15 seconds |
The maximum time available from the start of mixing to place and contour the material before it begins setting. |
|
Net Setting Time: 2 minutes |
The total time from the start of mixing after which the material sets hard enough to resist gentle pressure (not yet ready for finishing). |
|
Final Finishing Commencing Time: 2 minutes 30 seconds |
The time after mixing when you can begin final contouring, shaping, or polishing of the restoration — typically when the material is fully set and stable enough to handle finishing instruments. |

Details & Meaning |
|
Mixing Time: 30 seconds |
The total time recommended to thoroughly mix the powder and liquid using a spatula. A consistent, homogenous mix ensures good handling and strength. |
|
Working Time: 2 minutes |
The time window (from the start of mixing) within which the material must be placed and adapted into the cavity. After this, the material begins to set. |
|
Finishing Begins: 6 minutes |
Final finishing, shaping, and polishing of the restoration should start 6 minutes after mixing begins. This allows sufficient time for the material to fully harden. |
|
Powder / Liquid Ratio: 3.6g / 1.0g |
The ideal weight ratio for optimal physical properties. Using this ratio ensures appropriate consistency, strength, and setting behavior. |
Ø Tooth Preparation
- Clean the cavity thoroughly.
- Remove caries with minimal tooth structure removal.
- Isolate the area and avoid contamination with saliva or blood.
Ø Surface Conditioning (Optional but Recommended)
- Apply GC Cavity Conditioner (20% polyacrylic acid) to the cavity for 10 seconds.
- Rinse and gently dry—do not desiccate.
Ø Dispensing Powder and Liquid
- Dispense 1 level scoop of powder and 1 drop of liquid onto a mixing pad.
- Use the correct powder-to-liquid ratio as per instructions (typically 3.6g powder : 1g liquid).
Ø Mixing
- Mix thoroughly using a plastic spatula for 20–25 seconds until a smooth, glossy consistency is achieved.
- Avoid incorporating air bubbles.
Ø Placement
- Quickly apply the mix into the cavity using a suitable instrument.
- Adapt well to cavity walls and avoid overfilling.
Ø Shaping
- Shape and contour immediately after placement.
- Maintain moisture control and avoid drying out.
Ø Initial Setting
- Allow the material to set for approximately 2.5 minutes after start of mix.
- Avoid contact with moisture during setting.
Ø Final Finishing
- Begin finishing procedures (carving, trimming) after 6 minutes from start of mixing.
- Polish if desired for a smoother surface.
Ø Optional Varnish Application
- Apply GC Fuji Varnish or light-cured resin coating to protect against moisture and enhance longevity.
