1. Sterilize the Tofflemire matrix retainer and matrix band before use.
2. Select the appropriate matrix band size for the tooth being restored.
3. Insert the matrix band into the retainer with proper orientation.
4. Position the matrix band around the prepared tooth.
5. Place the retainer on the buccal or lingual side as required.
6. Tighten the locking mechanism to secure the matrix band firmly.
7. Adjust the band using the screw mechanism to achieve proper contour and contact.
8. Proceed with placement of restorative material.
9. After setting, carefully remove the retainer and matrix band.
10. Clean the instrument thoroughly after use and autoclave before reuse.
