Basic Cementation Steps
-
Clean and dry the prepared tooth or implant abutment.
-
Apply the cement to the internal surface of the restoration.
-
Seat the restoration and maintain light pressure.
-
Remove excess cement during the gel phase and light-cure the margins.
-
Allow the material to self-cure fully or complete light curing if indicated.
Detailed Clinical Protocol
1. Preparation
-
Confirm accurate restoration fit.
-
Prepare the tooth or implant abutment according to standard protocols.
-
Ensure the surface is clean and properly dried (avoid over-drying dentin).
2. Mixing
-
Attach the mixing tip securely to the automix dispensing syringe/gun.
-
Extrude a small amount to eliminate air bubbles from the tip.
-
Dispense the cement directly or onto a mixing pad/glass slab (short working time—work efficiently).
3. Application
-
If required, apply a dental adhesive to the prepared tooth/abutment and dry or cure as per adhesive instructions.
-
Load the restoration with SpeedCEM Plus resin cement using the applicator tip or brush.
4. Seating the Restoration
-
Position the restoration carefully onto the prepared surface.
-
Ensure complete seating and correct alignment.
-
Maintain steady seating pressure.
5. Cement Cleanup
-
Remove excess cement immediately.
-
Optional tack cure: light-cure briefly to reach gel phase for easier cleanup.
-
Remove cured or gelled excess using floss, scaler, or suitable instruments.
6. Curing
-
If light-curing is indicated, polymerize using a dental curing light according to the manufacturer’s exposure times.
-
Otherwise, allow the cement to complete its self-curing process.
7. Final Evaluation
-
Confirm complete seating and proper occlusion.
-
Verify that the cement has fully bonded and all margins are clean.
-
Make any necessary occlusal adjustments.
8. Patient Instructions
-
Provide post-operative advice such as avoiding immediate hard chewing on the restoration.
-
Instruct the patient on oral hygiene around the final restoration.
