• 1- Biodentine Capsules

·        Composition:
– Powder: Tricalcium silicate, calcium carbonate, zirconium oxide
– Liquid: Calcium chloride (setting accelerator) and water-soluble polymer (improves handling)

·        Setting Time:
– Approx. 12 minutes

·        pH after setting:
– ~12 (alkaline, antibacterial environment)

·        Color:
– Light yellow/off-white (similar to natural dentin)

·        Radiopacity:
– ~3.5 mm Al (adequate for radiographic detection)

·        Compressive Strength:
– ~200 MPa after 24 hours (comparable to natural dentin)

·        Indications:
– Pulp capping
– Pulpotomy
– Apexification
– Root perforation repair
– Internal/external resorption
– Temporary enamel/dentin replacement

·        Presentation:
– Single-use capsules (powder) and dropper bottle (liquid)

1.     Prepare the Cavity or Canal:

o    Clean and isolate the area to be treated.

o    Remove any infected or damaged tissue using standard techniques.

2.     Mix the Material:

o    Open one single-dose capsule of Biodentine powder.

o    Add 5 drops of the supplied liquid from the dropper bottle.

o    Place the closed capsule into a triturator (amalgamator) and mix for 30 seconds.

3.     Apply the Material:

o    Open the capsule and use the spatula provided to load the mixed Biodentine.

o    Place Biodentine into the cavity or root canal using an instrument or applicator.

4.     Allow to Set:

o    Let the material set in place for approximately 12 minutes.

o    Do not disturb during the setting time.

5.     Restore (if applicable):

o    For temporary restorations: Biodentine can serve as a dentin substitute.

o    For permanent restoration: After setting, overlay with a composite or other final material if needed.
